Shareholder rewards or shareholder perks are benefits, you, as a retail investor can earn for holding shares of a company. Shareholder rewards should not be confused with dividends. Instead, they are perks that can be redeemed by individual investors and designed to reward loyalty in ownership.
Think of it as an individual benefit simply for being a retail shareholder in a company. These shareholder rewards can come in several forms and from a wide variety of forward-thinking companies. This article is designed to answer two questions from individual investors: What kind of shareholder perks are available to me as a retail investor? And who offers rewards?
The perks available to retail shareholders are limited only by the imagination of the company offering them. Typical shareholder rewards include gift cards, discounts, coupons, experiential events, and company merchandise. Earning these shareholder perks is easy on TiiCKER. Retail investors can simply connect their brokerage account and TiiCKER will sort through the perks and alert the shareholder to the benefits they are eligible to redeem.
Perks are valuable and if companies want to attract retail investors, they can’t be stingy with the shareholder benefits. The value of these perks tends to be proportional to ownership with the value of the perk increasing with the level of ownership or the length in which the asset must be held to redeem.
Some retail investors mistakenly believe that they must own vast numbers of shares to be eligible for a perk. On TiiCKER, nothing could be further from the truth. To be eligible for perks on TiiCKER, individual investors simply need a portfolio value of $100 in any combination of stock to qualify for an $11 Amazon or Visa gift card. Other perks are available for holding just a single share or a small handful of stocks.
Here are the most common type of shareholder rewards:
Gift Cards
