When retail investors discover TiiCKER, some have questions about how stock perks work. So the editorial team periodically digs into our mailbag to answer some common questions about TiiCKER. We want you to get the most out of the platform that rewards shareholders for simply owning stock in their favorite companies.
Question: “I am an executive at a small, publicly traded company. I learned about TiiCKER at a recent conference I attended in Charlotte, N.C. We understand the value of connecting with our shareholders and we want to reward their loyalty on the TiiCKER platform, especially before our competitors find out about it and beat us to the punch. After speaking with a TiiCKER representative at the conference, I have a good idea of how TiiCKER works, but I have a problem I can’t seem to get past: We are a manufacturing company, not a consumer brand, and I’m stumped trying to figure out what kind of perks we might offer. Can you help? – Linda T., Chicago
Answer: Linda, thanks for the question and I’m glad that you are looking out for your shareholders. Thanks to for taking a moment to learn about TiiCKER at the recent conference. We get this question on occasion and it’s a good one. Most executives at publicly traded companies innately understand the importance of cultivating loyalty with their individual investors.
According to a 2020 national Harris Poll, 77% of everyday investors would be more likely to buy shares of a company if they were offered a shareholder perk, reward or product discount, and 8 in 10 retail investors agree that being a shareholder in a consumer products company or brand make them more likely to buy their products. Your instinct to connect with these retail investors is spot on.
Partnering with TiiCKER provides your company an entirely new and untapped marketing opportunity. Since you are with a publicly traded company, you’ve already mastered your target audience.
Finding the right perk for your company is the easy part! We get it. You are not in the business of shareholder perks. But we are and we have created hundreds of perks for the brands on our platform. For brands on TiiCKER like Real Good Foods (Tii:RGF), the question of what perks to provide is relatively easy since consumers like its food and like to be rewarded with Real Good Foods products. Same is true for Whirlpool (Tii:WHR), which offers appliance discounts to its verified shareholders on the TiiCKER platform.
I’m not sure what company you are with Linda or what it manufacturers, but let’s get some general ideas going. Shareholders enjoy perks that truly connect them to the companies they invest in. Let’s use Willamette Valley Vineyards (Tii:WVVI) as an example. The company offers discounts on its wine and access to exclusive wines – product perks that you’ve mentioned would not fit for your company. That’s understandable. Willamette Valley Vineyards also gives away experiential perks to its shareholders: discounted admission to special events and VIP winery tours.
Your retail shareholders own your stock for a reason. I’m sure your company is a great investment, but ask yourself why else are they buying your shares? Maybe they live in the same city and see the value in your company firsthand? If so, perhaps you could offer a perk associated with your city. Perks do not have to be products that you make. They can be experiential like the Willamette Valley Vineyards example. They can provide access to your services like the perks offered by SurgePays (Tii:SURG).
You might offer a perk that is totally unique to your shareholders like an NFT or a ticket to an event. There are no set parameters. TiiCKER has deep experience building and managing these perks and helping you find the perfect way to reward your shareholders.
We definitely want to continue the conversation with you Linda. If you misplaced the contact information for the TiiCKER staffer that you met at the conference, simply email corporate@TiiCKER.com and a member of our team will reach out.
