Headed to the beach for spring break? BODi (Tii:BODY) will help you get fit and build your 'Health Esteem.’ In a recent Nationwide Travel Insurance survey, 91% of U.S. consumers have plans to travel in 2024, with four in 10 (40%) planning to travel more than they did in 2023. And many of those travelers will make spring break travel a priority. Some of the top spring break destinations for Americans, according to recent data collected from search engine research, are New Orleans, Punta Cana, Las Vegas, Maui and Cabo San Lucas. Though these locations vary in activities, they do have something in common: sun, warmth, and for almost all of them, a beach experience.
Before heading to the beach at spring break, many travelers will set fitness and swimsuit goals for themselves. This is where BODi, formerly The Beachbody, has answers. BODi is a wellness platform that is built differently. Founded as a direct marketing business focused on workout DVDs, nutrition planning, and supplements, BODi has grown into a diversified holding company, offering streamed and live fitness and nutrition programming. Customers can choose between doing exercises alongside a community in live workouts or a variety of recorded programs.
The company has grown on a platform of supplements that accompany consistent exercise and advertises that everything they make is “built on three pillars — effective formulation, quality sourcing and ongoing testing.” The company has partnered with several academic and research organizations including the University of Exeter, Inquis Clinical Research, and Oxford Brookes Centre for Nutrition and Health to collect data on hydration, performance and exercise recovery.
The company’s name change is significant and represents the view that all bodies are beach bodies. BODi seeks to support all people, saying that they “honor individuals of any size, shape or health situation,” and has created an app and a personalized program catered to the needs of the specific user. The app, called BODi by Beachbody, was named the best workout app overall by CNN in 2023 out of a sea of more than 97,000 fitness apps available. The app was evaluated by price, the variety of workout options, nutritional support and community support. BODi by Beachbody landed on top when compared to the most popular workout apps like Peloton, Future, Centr and Nike Training Club. On the BODi app, there are more than 95 programs to choose from with recognizable favorites like P90X, 21 Day Fix or Insanity with Shaun T. CNN says that the highlight of the app is the range of fitness styles represented: pumping iron, practicing yoga, high-intensity cardio or those catered to spring breakers looking to tone muscle and shed a few pounds.
In a Forbes survey of 1,000 U.S. adults asked about health in the New Year, 48% of respondents noted that fitness was their top priority. Research has shown that people who work with a health coach to establish long-term behaviors critical for wellness are able to lose three times more weight than those who choose not to work with a trainer. BODi has chosen to reject the traditional ideas about diet and what they call legacy fitness and focus on marketing ‘Health Esteem.’ Customers are assigned a free coach, or as BODi calls them, partners. Partners take an active role in assisting customers reach their health goals through encouragement, instruction and accountability. BODi customers looking to prepare to feel healthier and more fit for a spring break vacation can look to a partner to find a program and a supplement plan that will support their goals.
